Théo
Degardin
“Théo Degardin [...] could be the most important French pianist to emerge since Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Cédric Tiberghien.”
Théo Degardin began playing the piano at the age of ten, under the tutelage of Éric Degardin and Jean François Mast. He then continued his studies with Prisca Benoît and Mladen Tcholitch, whom he met at the International Summer Academies in Biarritz and Nice.
In 2014, the pianist Sonia Rubinsky decided to take him as a student. The same year, Theo Degardin won the Brest Competition and performed in recital at the Mont d'Or Festival. He entered the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in 2016 in the class of Michel Dalberto and Claire Marie Leguay. There, Mr. Degardin obtained his Master's Degree in 2023 in the class of Franck Braley and Haruko Ueda. In 2018 he participated in the International Music Academy in Flaine where he received advice from Abdel Rahmann El Bacha.
Given his extraordinary career path, Théo Degardin has been supported in his journey by several scholarships and foundations such as: Goélands Foundation, Kriegelstein Fund, Meyer Foundation, Ute and Patrick Petit Study Grant.
In 2022, his first CD "Piano Tales", Arabesque Records, was released. The programme includes Chopin Études Opus 25, as well as the Three Dances of Petrushka by Igor Stravinsky. This CD was highly praised by an article in Libération.
